Barton Patient Transfer System

Advances in medical technologies have been dramatic in recent years. One thing that hasn't improved, however, is moving a patient back and forth from bed to chair. Patient transfer is a difficult process that is dangerous to both patient and caregiver. It frequently results in injury to both. Many patients who could otherwise live in the comfort of their own homes are forced into nursing facilities because their caregiver cannot lift them alone.

However, the Barton Positioning and Transfer System allows one person to safely and comfortably transfer another from bed to chair and chair to bed, preserving the patient's dignity. For many patients and caregivers, the Barton PTS means the difference between nursing home care and home care.

I-Series Chair

Moving a bedridden patient can be challenging. While performing a patient transfer on an average-sized person can be difficult and unsafe for both patient and caregiver, with obese patients the task can be an even greater challenge.

The I-Series chair is designed to allow a single caregiver to transfer a non- or limited-ambulatory patient safely and easily. The I-330 and I-660 chairs perform both stretcher and mobile chair functions. They allow the caregiver to laterally transfer a patient from almost any hospital bed, homecare bed, stretcher, or procedure/exam table to and from the chair without fear and risk of injury to either patient or caregiver. The I-660 provides a new and safe alternative for patient transfer for the growing bariatric population.

Bartrams Mobility's wide range of products to care for the bariatric patient also includes (from left to right):
