How 'Molly-Bather' works This patented product has, on the wall side, a 'proper' grab rail, available in different widths and styles to suit the user and their dwelling. This is complemented by handholds around the perimeter of the transfer seat of the bather, which most importantly allows the user a safe hold at all times during transfer and when lowering or raising.

The Molly-Bather houses a belt mechanism that lowers and recoils a reinforced polypropylene belt suitable for a user of up to 22 stones, (140kg). It has a removable battery pack, which provides around 20 lifts between charges. A high quality battery charger is supplied for recharging, outside the bathroom.

The Molly Bather was designed with the help of Occupational Therapists, and has numerous features which make it the bathing aid of choice for many professionals:

• Molly allows a full, unrestricted soak, whereas portable bath lifts leave the user about four inches from the bottom of the bath.
• The ergonomic grab rail and handholds all around the seat give greater support for the user at all times.
• Wall-mounted belt bathers require the user to 'step-in' and 'step-out', but with a Molly, the transfer starts and finishes outside the bath, using the comfortable transfer seat.
• The Molly Bather is fitted to the floor, outside the bath, so there is no mechanism impeding the use of the tub. Less heavy-duty fixings are required, and the bathing belt is intrinsically more secure than a wall-mounted unit.
• The price of the Molly Bather is much less than many wall-mounted belt-type lifts.
