Bed and chair wander/fall alarm

These monitors can be used for the care of the elderly, dementia patients and difficult children. A large sensor mat is positioned under the mattress or chair cushion, and detects the presence of an occupant by their weight. When they leave the bed or chair, the Smart raises an alarm.

There is a choice of alarm outputs: Alarm tone; nurse call output (via lead for connection to a nurse call system); voice reminders - "lay back down" or "sit back down" depending on whether it is a bed or chair being monitored; transmitter output for remote alarm (pager or nurse call monitor).

The system is simple to use and set up, durable and reliable. The wipe-clean sensor mats are resistant to normal disinfectants and detergents.

Options for resetting the alarm include a push-button reset or a secure reset, where the alarm is deactivated by a magnetic staff key.

Optional additions to the system include a plug-in pressure mat for use under a rug or carpet, and an infrared beam sensor, which fixes to the wall and projects a beam along the side of the bed. The alarm is triggered when the bed's occupant moves into the beam.
