Emergency Lifting & Transfer

There is a range of solutions to assist with moving people in emergency situations.

Image of Camel emergency lifting cushion If somebody has fallen to the floor, but is otherwise uninjured, an inflatable lifting cushion can raise them to a seated or standing position, without the need for carers to involve themselves in risky lifting manoeuvres. Models are available for operation by a carer, and for independent use.

The cushion is placed under the fallen person, and then inflated using an air compressor. Individuals weighing up to 70 stone can be lifted from the floor in this way: a procedure that could otherwise involve a number of carers, and great loss of dignity for the person involved.

The evacuation system shown is adjustable and padded for the comfort and safety of the user. It has vertical and horizontal looped handles for a safer grip, and the straps which hold the user secure can be adjusted to suit their size.

For emergency evacuation of wheelchair users, there is a range of powered and manual chairs, including stairclimbers to cope with any staircases, including narrow, steep and winding stairs.
