If not, you may be able to get help with travel costs through the NHS Low Income Scheme. NotesIf you need someone to travel with you, you may also be able to get help with the cost of their fares. How to claimIf you get Income Support or income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, tell the hospital that you want to claim and show them proof that you are entitled to benefit. If you want to claim under the NHS Low Income Scheme, get form HC1 Claim for help with health costs from your social security office or an NHS hospital. If you want more information, get leaflet HC11 "Are you entitled to help with health costs?" from your social security office, post office or NHS hospital.
