The Mighty Mayan

Image of man on all-terrain scooter with dog Horizon Mobility are the only genuine British manufacturer of a range of mobility scooters, designed and built here in England

When considering a mobility scooter, there are just two things you can be sure of in the UK: we have hills and we have rain. These are the ONLY mobility scooters that do not tell you "Do not use the vehicle in wet, damp or misty conditions". These are built with our weather in mind. Here are scooters for that trip to the shops, or out on the footpaths taking the dog for a walk. For those with a real sense of adventure then offroad is within your grasp. In the woods, across the moors, only your imagination will be the boundary to what you can do.

Buying a mobility scooter is a significant investment; get it right and you will improve your independence doing those things you thought had gone forever. Get it wrong and you have an expensive nightmare that will only cause headache and heartache. Remember the saying "The sweetness of cheap price will fade long before the bitterness of poor quality". You choose - these are built to last for years, and we stand by them.

We will not try to sell you a mobility scooter, we let you decide to purchase, which is why you will find all the information you need on our website, including pricing. The only thing missing is the essential aid to making a fully informed choice, the ability to try the scooter thoroughly where you want to go. Test the strength, comfort and discuss your needs. This benefit cannot be overstated: call us and discuss further. Uniquely we offer a try before you buy, not just a few minutes when a sales person calls, but you can hire one from us for a week or month, then if you do decide to buy, we allow the rentals against the purchase. We trust you understand why we hire the vehicles to you, but it just means that we are only providing this for those who are seriously looking, not those looking for a weekend of fun. Remember, this can be the beginning of you independence once more.

Heavy Duty Bariatric Scooters

Image of large man with heavy duty scooter Because we are manufacturers, and custom-build our scooters to suit the individual, the Mayan mobility scooter can have springing and suspension to suit user weights to 45 stone. Not only that, these scooters will perform perfectly, climbing hills as normal. Even better, they will still give realistic ranges.

Features of the Mayan scooter:

• Carries up to 45 stone (286 kg, 680 pounds)
• Up to 2400 watt motor
• Up to 2 x 110 amp/hr batteries
• Up to 12 mph
• We could claim high range, but all we can state is that it will go further on a single charge than any other
• Climb steeper than any other
• Tow more than any other

The Voyager Scooter

Image of voyager scooter This is the entry-level scooter, considered a standard sized 8mph vehicle, it has many additional features over the competition.

The Voyager scooter is ideal for trips into town, round the shops, capable of taking you and your shopping safely home.

It is also just the job to walk the dog around the park, or just to take in the sights on the country paths. The clean lines and engineered components give perfect ride and control. Just look at the clean lines of the front suspension; all bushes are not just washers but full needle roller bearings. British design and build for confident long life.

Features of the Voyager:

• Full Suspension
• Tough steel chassis similar in design to the mighty Mayan
• Full suspension with coil shock absorbers
• High power motor at 850 watts
• Battery capacity of up to 2 x 100 amp/hours
• Easy to operate, clear and waterproof controls
• Delta Tiller to allow maximum user choice of control
• A pair of real mirrors that provide good rear vision

Custom-Made Scooters

Image of Scooter to drive with legs extended If you need it we can probably build it.

Many people have special needs, and as we are the manufacturers we have the unique ability to build a scooter to meet your needs.

The platform used to build our current range of scooters allows significant adaptations and special fittings.

For example, you might want to travel even further afield, with high-power 2000 watt motor or an ultra high-power 3000 watt version. You can upgrade the battery from 75 to 100 A/hour; reverse the throttle controls; specify a heavy duty option, with or without an extra wide heavy duty seat system.

Even if our standard Mayan or Voyager suits your needs perfectly, you may well want to customise the appearance. We can do it! So if you have a hankering for pink, or you need to keep hidden in the countryside (for bird watching, angling or other pursuits) and would like your scooter in full camouflage, we're happy to fulfil your wishes.

The Weather Cab

Image of mobility scooter with weatherproof cab Possibly the best weather cab design around. The features that make such a difference is due to a combination of design benefits:

• The CAB steelwork is fitted directly to the chassis of the vehicle
• The structure between CAB and chassis provides a rigid unit, stopping most of the wobble associated with adding a CAB
• The Nylon cover is popped direct to the chassis, again making the whole unit one, thus limiting the flapping fabric often associated with CABs
• The CAB does not overlap the base of the vehicle, keeping the CAB safe and making it the same size as the basic scooter
• The rear zippered flap allows simple access should a rear basket be fitted
• Polycarbonate front screen gives a rigid front to the canopy for clear vision out of the CAB
• Tough zippers to the two access doors for ease of entry
• Security straps to hold the rolled doors up in the summer for open air travel when the sun shines
• Bright, unique colour design gives clear visibility to other road users
• All these benefits add up to one of the very best WEATHER CABS one can fit.
