Joint Care
Bony areas, such as heels and elbows, are particularly prone to pressure damage, and it is
important to give them extra protection. They are at risk following injuries or surgical
procedures, and also in individuals with arthritis, diabetes or oedema.
Natural sheepskin has excellent qualities of resilience, thermal insulation and vapour dispersion. Because of this, it is widely used in therapeutic rehabilitation. The wool depth recommended for effective pressure relief and warmth is 25 mm (1 inch).
DermaSavers are protectors for fragile skin, helping to protect from damage caused by friction,
rubbing, abrasion and pressure, which can lead to skin breakdowns, tears and splits. They can
also help to heal existing skin tears and lacerations without the restriction of bandages and
dressings.
