The
ARRO bed
Many vulnerable patients are still nursed on floor matresses to stop them falling or climbing out of bed.
The ARRO bed addresses the issues of patient dignity and manual handling. In addition, since the bed height can be adjusted over such a wide range, patients with impaired movement - as a result of a stroke, for example - can set the height at the correct level to help themselves on and off the bed, aiding rehabilitation and reducing the workload of busy staff.
The Arro bed, manufactured in Ontario, Canada, is a fully profiling electric
bed, but with the added feature of an exceptionally wide range of mattress
platform height, allowing the patient to rest at near ground level whilst
carers can attend at an ergonomically correct level.
To address
the challenge of infection control, the Arro bed is fully washable; the
mattress platform can be easily removed for complete decontamination;
and the electrical components are completely sealed.
The electronic control system (left) operates all high-low, profiling
and Trendelenberg functions from a footboard control panel. Patient hand-controls (below
right) can be selectively locked-out for safety or removed altogether.
The Arro bed is compatible with all profiling mattresses - both the static
foam type and alternating pressure systems.
The
compact under-deck motors and control systems give easy access for
all types of hoist, and with a weight limit of 225 kgs (35 stone) even
the heavier patient can be managed safely.
The bed is delivered with full operator instruction and back-up service.
