Adaptawear is launching at Naidex, with a range of conventional looking clothes which have been made much easier to put on, take off and wear, using practical designs and innovative fastenings in place of zips and buttons. The range includes both outer and underwear to enable the wearer to get dressed more easily, potentially without help that would be needed with conventional clothes. Carers' needs are also considered, with a selection of clothes available to make dressing others simpler. Practicality does not come at the sacrifice of design, with each item styled to ensure that it looks as if a traditional fastening has been used. Fabrics are carefully considered, to produce clothes that are not just comfortable but also hard wearing. The Magnetic Shirt incorporates special therapy magnets that are concealed along the front panel and fasten effortlessly, thus removing the need to struggle with buttons. The shirt still looks like a conventional garment, with false buttons at the front to give the impression of a traditional fastening. Some people consider that magnets may provide natural pain relief, giving the shirt an extra dimension. Made from poly cotton, with long sleeves and adjustable cuffs, the shirt is machine washable at 40°. Another innovative new product in the range, the CoreBra is designed to enable women with reduced mobility to manoeuvre easily in and out of their bras. The revolutionary bra comes in all the sizes of its traditional counterparts, but with ingenious magnetic and hook & loop fastenings at the front of the bra to replace the awkward hooks and eyes. The large finger loops allow easy grasping to make dressing as easy as possible. Unlike a normal bra there are no awkward cup sizes, only soft expandable cotton that conforms to the wearer's body shape while still looking like a simple everyday bra. The 'racer' back is designed to help reduce shoulder strain whilst the extra wide adjustable straps give added support. |
