Image of advanced joystick remote controlDynamic Controls is launching the DX2 power chair control system, a modular system which is compatible with the existing DX. This continued modularity makes it possible to design a powerchair that can meet the requirements of any user. Requirements can range from drive-only control to full environmental control. Simply add additional modules as required.

The first DX2 module to be launched, the Advanced Joystick Remote DX2-REM550, is on show here. It offers many benefits to the users of power chairs and the installers (OEMs), including a large and clear colour LCD screen, which gives superior visibility from different angles. It automatically adjusts screen brightness dependant on ambient light conditions to ensure the screen remain visible in even in bright sunlight. Direct access to proportional PC mouse and environmental control (via additional module), ensures that even delicate computer functions can be accessed.

Image of joystickLow force joystick (less than 2.5N) allows the widest possible range of users to access this remote without using a secondary form of input. There is a range of audible feedback, to ensure users can access functions without using the display if required, while the icon based menu structure, without text, supports those with cognitive issues.

Large, easy to operate tactile buttons are programmable, so the system can be customised to suit a particular user's needs. A real time clock allows users to know the time in any mode.

As the Advanced Joystick Remote is compatible with the DX range of modules (existing and future), it can be used to upgrade existing systems for the minimum cost.

A wide selection of alternative input devices are available for the DX2, making it a complete rehabilitation system. Different drive profiles can be controlled by different input devices or it is possible to have joystick only operation which means all modes can be controlled via the joystick, no button presses required.

Further modules will be launched during the year.
