The M3 digitised speech aid is the 3rd generation of digitised (recorded) products from DynaVox, following the highly successful Dynamo, launched in 1999, and the MightyMo and MiniMo (or "Mo2" range) launched in 2004. The M3 replaces the MiniMo but has a more rugged (magnesium based) case, for extra durability, a faster processor, 1 GB of flash storage and a larger screen. It has also been designed with a screen flush with the casing, as opposed to the MiniMo which had a slightly recessed screen. The flush screen makes the fitting of keyguards easier and helps avoid the ingress of dribble and other liquids. It also now has two front facing speakers for better sound quality. On the software side, some features have been added from the well-accepted InterAACt framework, launched with the V and V Max synthesised product, and DynaVox have also taken the opportunity to make some other specific user requested changes. The M3 is priced at £2,495. A larger version to replace the MightyMo will be available shortly. |
