Since developing the Renault Kangoo 'Drive From Wheelchair' in 2004,
Sirus Automotive have now launched our second 'Drive From Wheelchair' vehicle
solution, a high quality conversion based on the all new Volkswagen Caddy.
This unique vehicle gives the chair user total independence at all times,
thus eliminating the need for strenuous transfers or assistive help. The
driving experience can now be enjoyed from the comfort of your own chair.
Just like the Kangoo conversion, infrared remote opening of the rear end
means you have the option of opening the vehicle from within the home etc
to allow the tailgate to lift and ramp deploy whilst you make your way to
the car. From here you can enter straight into the I-Can, automatically lock
into position, close the vehicle (again remotely) and begin your journey
to wherever you desire.
We can provide a broad range of driving aids which
make driving possible for individuals who may not have previously considered
it an option. Once
you have decided on the exact specification you would like, your vehicle
will be tailor-made to your requirements. We can add a wide range
of specific driver controls from simple push / pull hand controls to full

The U-Can is based on the 1.9 Turbo Diesel 6 speed DSG Automatic Caddy. As standard the vehicle provides power steering,

Sirus Automotive have recently launched the Caddy ‘Active’ – their latest Internal Transfer vehicle solution. The ‘Active’ is the perfect vehicle for wheelchair users who want to drive yet don’t want to sit in their chair whilst driving. Many people like to stay active, using their upper body strength as much as possible or simply prefer the comfort of a standard driver’s seat.
Features of the conversion
The ‘Active’ allows you to enter the vehicle from the rear, ascend the shallow incline ramp until your wheelchair is in position and once your chair is safely locked down, you then manually transfer into the drivers seat. wheelchair into position. Sirus fit an Autoadapt 6 way seat enabling a comfortable, stress free
transfer. The 6-Way Base is designed with focus on the safety of the driver. When seated at the
wheel you use the vehicle's original seat belt. The seat is designed to provide complete stability.
It is essential that a driver has stable seating, which doesn't sway when making turns or wobble on
rough roads. The seat base is crash tested according to global and European standards and has also
