The improved straight stairlift is manufactured using modern materials giving it a more contemporary appearance ensuring it blends into your home. Supremely smooth, quiet and slim, the elegant 400 stairlift manages to balance design excellence with the trusted heritage of Stannah. The cover, housing the mechanics, has been moulded to reduce the size, lessening the impact of the stairlift on the staircase. A design change to the controls ensures that the customer can swivel the seat, at the top of the stairs, with greater ease. If however, you have a staircase that turns a corner then the Stannah 260 model is Stannah Stairlifts’ option for curved stairs and truly is unbeatable on bends! Designed specifically to cope with curved or complicated staircases, it negotiates bends, intermediate landings and corridors with ease.
The 260 stairlift is controlled through wireless wall controls, removing the need for trunking or unsightly wiring. Its actual movements are regulated by directional controls which can be mounted on either arm of the stairlift and can be in the form of either light-touch buttons or a joystick; whichever is easier for the user to employ. At Stannah, the safety of customers is paramount and all models have been designed very much with this in mind. The seat on the 260, which can be swivelled round when the user reaches the top of the stairs, is an ideal example. The swivel seat not only makes getting on and off easier but, because when swivelled, the seat acts as a barrier between the user and the staircase, it is also far safer. Further safety features include the safety edges on the footrest. The 260 has two seat options, the Sarum or the Saxon and on both there are nine safety sensors, which means that the stairlift stops immediately if there is an obstruction.
The Stannah 320 Stairlift (right) is an outdoor product for straight stairs that can be used in temperatures ranging from -10°c to +40°c. The stairlift comes with a waterproof cover to contend with the vagaries of the British weather and the anodized silver coloured rail blends in attractively with the brickwork of any building. The 320 is controlled using a joystick device which simply needs to be held in the direction of travel for a smooth journey up or down the stairs. All Stannah Stairlifts are independently tested and approved to the full BS5776 (1996) accreditation. This is the British Standard to which all reputable manufacturers must comply. Stannah Stairlifts come with a comprehensive 12 month parts and labour guarantee, as well as one complimentary service visit. As part of Stannah’s thorough after sales service, their customer service staff are on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all working from the nationwide network of service branches that make Stannah a truly national operation.
