Child/Adult Cots

image of woman and child in cot The Olaf is available in two standard door heights: 98 cm and 135 cm and two standard sizes: 90/170 cm or 90/200 cm.

As standard, the height is adjustable through 70 cm – for very low access and also a perfect height for care and therapy. For disabled mothers, this is also a very helpful facility.

A special door fitting prevents the doors being opened from inside, and the cot can also be used for playing during the day. Perspex all round enables unrestricted eye-contact, while the smooth solid wood feels warm and corresponds with the physiological sensation of our children.

The sleeping platform height can be adjusted to suit every wheelchair height, and it can be either flat or manually adjustable. The model shown above is the Olaf 98 Low. The cots may be padded if required.

Ask for our 61 page colour cots brochure; it is full of ideas and information.

image of woman on bed using leglifter The new Theracare Leg Lifter has been designed to enable users to get their legs into bed safely and easily, something that can prove very difficult for anyone with reduced muscle strength and general mobility.

The Theracare leg lifter is a powered unit that lifts the legs over and onto the surface of the bed, requiring very little in the way of movement or repositioning. Quiet in operation, it is strong enough to lift severely oedemic legs.

The leg lifter can be used with an adjustable care bed, or with a standard non-functioning domestic bed. Easy to fit and height adustable, it weighs just 12 kg.

Rotoflex Bed

rotoflex bed swiveled to sitting position A unique solution to getting in and out of bed without assistance, the Rotoflex turning system has been developed to maintain independence within your own home. Its unique rotational system can easily and safely transfer users between a sitting position and a sleeping position. This is simply achieved by pushing and holding just one button on the easy-to-use hand control.

This is a fully functional, height-adjustable, four section profiling bed which transforms into an adjustable reclining chair, reducing the need to depend on carer assistance and increasing user independence and quality of life. It can eliminate the need for hoist transfers into and out of bed, and solves the problem of lifting the legs into bed.

A full practical asessment is available on request.

The company is also unique in the lengths it will go to provide a bespoke solution for an individual’s problems. Theraposture will alter, modify, or build beds from scratch to provide the solution that is needed.

Chair Bed - Recliner to a FLAT sleeping platform

image of chair bed being used as a bed For many of those users who are experiencing problems with getting in and out of bed, the only solutions have been carer assistance and/or hoisting. The Theraposture chair bed acts like a riser recliner but provides a full sleeping platform. Made to measure, with a sleeping platform up to 915mm wide by 1905mm long, the chair bed has droppable/removable arms to aid side transfers.

The one piece mattress/topper pad is specially designed to give as comfortable a sleeping platform as possible, and it can be filled with pressure redistributing foam. The wide variety of fabric options available includes a suede-feel waterproof material.

The chair bed is rated to 160kg (25st) depending on body weight distribution, and all Theraposture chairs are fitted with an anti-crush safety device as standard.
