Ceiling Track Hoists
A
ceiling track hoist enables a carer to lift and transfer a patient from
one location to another. It is simple, unrestricted, friendly and easy
to use. The hoist runs on a static ceiling track which is customised to
your requirements and installed by the Westholme Survey and Installation
departments.
All Westholme ceiling track hoists are powered by an on board battery
pack. The hoist is charged at an in-line power point. A major benefit
to implementing a ceiling track hoist is that because it is at ceiling
level, it is unobtrusive and does not require storage, making it ideal
for areas with limited space.
The Transactive range (shown left) have motorised traverses which not
only allow the movement of a patient by the touch of a button but also
provide a smooth operation. (manual traverse also available)
Lifting capacities of the Transactive Hoist are from 20stone/130kg to
62 stone/400kg (5 models). It can be used in any configuration of ceiling
track layout and is compatible with all slings which have looped tapes.

Mobile
Hoists
A mobile floor hoist is a portable, self-contained hoisting unit.
It provides carers with a safe, practical option which can be wheeled
into position quickly and used in multiple locations.
The Freeway range of Mobile Hoists (shown right) are available with
either Hydraulic or electric operation with a choice of lifting capacities
of 150kg, 175kg or 200kg. The range comes with many safety features including
all actuators fitted with an Actulog which records hoist usage.
The Pallas 2000 Stand Aid is a new introduction to the Westholme mobile
hoist range which caters for most situations. Whether lifting a person
from the floor or being used in a person’s rehabilitation, the flexible
Pallas will do it all (two hoists in one).

slings
Slings are the most important component of any hoist system as the sling
is the interface between the patient and the hoist system. Westholme manufactures
and supplies a wide range of standard slings, customised slings and special
one-off slings.
The company has a wealth of experience in assessing slings and solving
hoisting problems by designing slings which are safe and easy for the
carer to fit as well as being comfortable for the patient to be in.
The Universal Sling (left) represents approximately 70% of all slings
supplied by Westholme. This is because the sling is easy to fit, yet very
supportive. Each size of Universal Sling can accommodate a wide range
of body shapes and have weight capacities upto 286kg.
Other slings available include toileting, hammock, full support standing,
paediatric slings, and a range of slings for specific conditions such
as Muscular Dystrophy.
