For nearly 40 years wheelchair accessible vehicles have essentially remained
the same: access through the rear, a wheelchair position in the rear with
a loss of the boot and some rear seats. Some exceptions to the rule managed
a front passenger position but still relied on the age-old method of rear
access, rendering a once useful multi-purpose vehicle, well, less useful
and less multi-purpose.
Why should using a wheelchair in a car mean that the best bits of that car
are then made useless?
A wheelchair accessible vehicle has always guaranteed one thing – compromise.
40 years without a change, without innovation and evolution would not be
accepted in any other industry.
For many years we have had a vision. For nearly 5 years that vision
has taken us to the limit of what is possible and achievable within the boundaries
of accessible transport and engineering...

The ability to sit in the front - something most passengers take for granted, why shouldn't you? We can't think of many cars that have the best bits in the boot area - the one we chose to base our concept on has loads of features and things designed to make travelling enjoyable. These are all within easy reach in the front passenger position - where you will be.
No compromise. Simple. You use a wheelchair and want to get into a car with that wheelchair. Why should you have to choose between either sitting in the back on your own and shouting to the person driving, or sitting in the front and getting in and out through the boot with all the best bits of the car taken out to make room?
You want to do away with straps, with seatbelts that stretch across your neck. You want to sit as a passenger and not alone in the back with nothing around you. You want to look out of the front window, change the CD, turn on the fan, wind down the window. These aren't unreasonable things to want.

A boot. Very useful they are too. For as long as we can remember these have been standard in family cars for a reason - people take things with them, and don't want them rolling around the floor of the vehicle or in the way when they want to get out. It seems only fair that we should leave it there for you to use.
You want a boot, you want rear seats, you want to get in through the front door without manoeuvring a wheelchair backwards and forwards trying to get into the right position.
These aren't unreasonable things to want. These are things that you have been told that are part of the compromise of travelling in a chair.
We think compromise is outdated... welcome to WAV Evolution.

A wheelchair in a car - nothing new. But a wheelchair in the front passenger position? With getting into the car taking just under 40 seconds? No straps to be attached and tightened, no winches, no seatbelts stretching across your neck?
Our Patented method of access will not be seen anywhere else. Years of development and an obsession with finding a truly innovative way of getting in without struggling to position a wheelchair or crouching down as you go in through the boot have led us to this point.
The part we never planned on was that once you try this, nothing else makes sense anymore. It may be an engineering masterpiece, but it's so easy to use it's second nature.

The Doblo was the second model Evolution following on from the Kia Sedona.
Based on the all new Fiat Doblo - a vehicle built around comfort, useability, functionality and far improved compared to the previous model. Fiat approached the vehicle this time by designing a car that is supremely comfortable with a rear suspension design that is very complex to ensure fantastic ride quality.
Thanks to our exclusive conversion we are able to offer the Doblo with the suspension system retained exactly as Fiat designed it. Unfortunately with other Doblo conversions with access from the rear, this system has to be extensively modifed leading to a very different ride quality than that specified from the factory.
Available in both manual and recently launched Dualogic automatic gearbox, the Doblo now represents a truly useable mid range sized vehicle with a variety of engine options both Petrol and Diesel, plus a choice of trim levels and extras.
Our Doblo offers an entry height of 54.5" with internal headroom of 60.5". For further information on the vehicle please use the links to the right where you can download all information from our full brochure to vehicle specification, optional extras and also a seating plan.
New for Summer 2011 - The "MyLife" trim level.
Fiat have now introduced a new trim level to the Doblo lineup. The "MyLife" package replaces the outgoing Dynamic trim and includes the following additional equipment over the standard Dynamic trim:
Front Fog Lights
CD Player with MP3 format
Electrically Adjustable and Heated Body Coloured Door Mirrors

The Sedona was the first model that the Wav-Evolution conversion appeared with.
Having spent a while considering possible options the Sedona was chosen due to its combination of large interior space and great value for money.
With 7 seats including the wheelchair position, plus a large boot and plenty of storage areas the Sedona gave an excellent choice for those wanting increased space as well as the option to travel up-front.
As runout of production changed the available powerplants, the Sedona was left with one engine option only after Summer 2010 - the 2.2 CRDi Diesel unit.
With stocks of available vehicles now depleted, and the Sedona being officially out of production in terms of new vehicles from Kia, we can now offer a "conversion only" build on an existing vehicle you may have, or in some cases may be able to locate and source a suitable nearly new vehicle to convert for you.
Due to the lack of availability we are now no longer able to offer the Wav-Evolution Sedona on the Motability scheme.
