Terry Lifts have added new domestic lift products to their range which address the needs of bariatric users.
TSL 1100 Step Lift
The TSL 1100 Step Lift, a product originally developed for the Australian market, is now available in the UK and other countries that Terry Lifts exports to.
Growing bariatrics market
According to Public Health England, 61.7% of adults are overweight or obese (data from a study conducted in 2014). The prevalence of obesity among adults in England rose from 14.9% to 25.6% between 1993 and 2014.
Terry Lifts have recognised there to be an increasing need for lifts with a load capacity of 300 kg or more, which is now being referred to as “the new standard”. By adding new products to its range and by continuing to develop the existing products, the company can cater to the needs of the fast-growing bariatric market.
New lift solutions with high load capacity
The TSL 1100 Step Lift has a load capacity of 385 kg and features a 1100 mm extra wide platform, making it ideal for bariatric users and for use with heavy wheelchairs. It is a low rise step lift for domestic use with a maximum travel height of 1000 mm.
The Libretto fully enclosed ‘through floor’ lift
The Libretto Lift is a new and innovative, fully enclosed home lift with a high load capacity of 325 kg. The Standard (S) and Longer Wider (LW) models can accommodate a wheelchair, whereas the LW model can accommodate a wheelchair user and an attendant. This feature is not available with traditional unenclosed ‘through floor’ lifts.
The Standard model can accommodate a wheelchair user or two to three people standing, whilst the Compact model carries two people, or one person seated. The Longer Wider model has room for a wheelchair user and an attendant: a feature that is not available with traditional unenclosed through floor lifts.
Like the other through floor lifts made by Terry Lifts, Libretto is manufactured to BS5900:2012 and comes with state of the art safety features. The ceiling remains fire-protected whether the lift is parked in the upstairs or downstairs position.
The Libretto Standard and Longer Wider models come with an automatic folding ramp as standard. A powered door option is available for these models, making entering and exiting the lift very easy.
