A choice of mechanisms from Theraposture

Adjustable chairs with a choice of different actions

The Theraposture range of quality adjustable chairs includes a choice of mechanisms with different movements.

They can be incorporated into any style of chair and include any of the following mechanisms (actions):

Two-way tilt-in-space:

This riser recliner has a single motor action that maintains the angle between the seat and the backrest when reclined. This tilt-in-space movement is particularly useful for those with hip, back and delicate skin conditions as the angle between the backrest and seat remains the same, thus reducing the effects of shearing.

The riser function can be traditional rise and tilt or rise only (straight lift).

Clients weighing up to 35 stones can be accommodated and there is a low seat height option.

Three-way traditional recliner:

This is probably the chair that most people think of as a traditional riser recliner chair. It has single motor operation where the angle between the backrest and the seat increases as the chair is reclined. The riser function is a traditional rise and tilt.

Clients weighing up to 35 stones can be accommodated and there is a low seat height option.

Dual motor:

This mechanism allows the leg and backrests to be operated independently, achieving an infinite number of seated and reclined positions. Thus, the user can sit upright with their legs fully elevated to a horizontal position, or be fully reclined, or indeed anywhere in between these positions.

The riser function can be traditional rise and tilt or rise only (straight lift).

Clients weighing up to 70 stones can be accommodated and there is a low seat height option.

Dual motor tilt-in-space:

This action reclines in the same way as a single motor tilt-in-space chair.

In addition, the angle between the backrest and the seat can be opened to a flatter position using the second motor.

The riser function can be traditional rise and tilt or rise only (straight lift). Clients weighing up to 35 stones can be accommodated and there is a low seat height option.

BLTR action:

This mechanism allows users to operate each motor individually, so the chair can be tilted with the footrest up or down.

The back rest (B) and the leg rest (L) and the tilting (T) of the chair can all be separately operated.

The riser function can be traditional rise and tilt or rise only (straight lift).

Clients weighing up to 50 stones can be accommodated and there is a low seat height option.

In addition to the standard range of riser recliners, Theraposture also provides more specialist alternatives such as the Chair Bed and Theracare Mobile/Porter chair.
