Bariatric addition to the Citadel range of care beds
Part of the Citadel range of care beds, and sharing the same aesthetic styling, the Citadel Plus has a number of useful features that make it a versatile and effective care system for the heaviest users. These include variable bed width expansion, so that it can be adjusted to suit the occupant’s needs; an integral weigh scale; and Varizone™ patient detection movement system. The latter is a sophisticated technology that can help alert caregivers if a patient leaves the bed unexpectedly. It has a choice of ten settings, so the alert sensitivity can be altered to suit individual requirements. Other features include a head of bed angle indicator, to help caregivers position the occupant appropriately; and “chair position” – the bed can be moved into a chair position with one button, lowering the legs and abdomen to improve comfort. There is also an optional power drive, which reduces both the effort required and risk of injury when bed and patient transport are necessary.
AtmosAir Plus mattress
AtmosAir Plus, designed specifically for the Citadel Plus bed, helps provide skin protection for patients of size. The pressure redistribution surface uses Self Adjusting Technology™ (SAT™) to automatically adjust cushion pressures in response to patient movement.
5° sloped heel section with visco-elastic foam helps transfer weight off the vulnerable heel area.
The mattress size can be adjusted from 86.4 cm (34 in) to 121.9 cm (48 in) wide and from 202 cm (80 in) to 224 cm (88 in) in length. This provides an appropriately sized surface to accommodate patient need.
A durable, waterproof, moisture vapour permeable cover with multidirectional stretch helps reduce skin shear and friction.
