Multicare Medical – Lunch & Learn

New Lunch & Learn series shares practical expertise on ceiling hoists, hygiene rooms and bathroom adaptation

Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in moving and handling, hygiene room design and accessible environment solutions, Multicare Medical has launched a new series of free nationwide Lunch & Learn sessions for professionals involved in the design, specification and delivery of accessible and specialist care environments.

The CPD-style sessions have been developed to support professionals involved in the design, specification and delivery of these spaces, including OTs, case managers, architects, contractors, local authority teams and SEND decision-makers.

Delivered by Multicare’s in-house specialist design, project and installation team, the sessions focus on real-world challenges around moving and handling, hygiene room design, bathroom adaptation and accessible space planning. Each session is designed to help attendees better understand what works in practice, where common issues arise, and how earlier coordination can improve outcomes for end users.

The series currently includes five specialist sessions:

• Ceiling Hoists – Enhanced Awareness
• Ceiling Hoists – Combining Form with Function
• Hygiene Rooms – The Impact of Bulletins 103 & 104 on Hygiene Room Design
• Adapted Bathrooms – Combining Form with Function
• Adapting Bathrooms – Cutting Costs, Not Corners

Each session is delivered at the attendee’s premises, lasts around 60 minutes, includes a light lunch provided by Multicare, and comes with a complimentary technical delegate pack.

Providing practical, experience-led guidance

Rather than offering generic product presentations, the sessions are designed to deliver practical, experience-led guidance that professionals can apply to live projects, assessments and future planning.

Topics covered include:

• Designing safer, more practical environments for people with complex needs
• Improving coordination between specialist equipment and wider building layouts
• Understanding key compliance and guidance considerations
• Reducing rework and avoidable costs through earlier planning
• Balancing function, dignity, aesthetics and long-term usability

For professionals working across schools, care settings, healthcare environments and domestic adaptations, the sessions are intended to support more informed decisions that improve accessibility, safety and independence.

Speaking about the new Lunch & Learn sessions, Samuel Wheatcroft, Managing Director at Multicare Medical, said:

“We’re seeing strong early interest in these sessions, which reflects the demand for practical, experience-led guidance in this area. They have been developed to share the knowledge our team has built through years of supporting real projects, from specialist school environments and hygiene rooms to adapted bathrooms and complex moving and handling requirements.

Small decisions made early in the process can have a major impact on safety, usability, compliance and long-term outcomes. We wanted to offer something genuinely useful: CPD-style sessions that help professionals make more confident, better-informed decisions, rather than simply sitting through a sales presentation.”

With more than 30 years of experience supporting accessible and specialist care environments, Multicare Medical provides a fully in-house service spanning design support, equipment supply, installation, training and ongoing maintenance.

The Lunch & Learn sessions are now available to book across the UK, with early sessions already attracting strong interest.
