Notice: Medpage seizure detection systems

Discontinuation of seizure monitoring products

Medpage has announced that they are discontinuing their long-established range of seizure movement monitoring products.

This is obviously not a decision that has been taken lightly, and they have emphasised that they will be continuing to provide support and servicing for all products that are within their warranty period.

At the same time, they are close to completion of a completely new seizure movement monitoring system, which will be an excellent replacement for the discontinued models.
 

Managing director, Mike Dines said:

“We will continue to provide product support and servicing for all systems that remain within their warranty period, ensuring customers receive the assistance and reliability they expect from Medpage Ltd.
“Medpage Ltd has supplied affordable leading-edge carer support technologies for over 40 years. Utilising advancing technologies, we are close to completion of a new Seizure Movement Detection system and had hoped that it would be ready for market to avoid supply outages during the transition from the old system.
“This decision has not been taken lightly. Due to spiralling manufacturing costs, it is no longer feasible for us to continue investing in the current product range. While this marks the end of production, it does not mark the end of our commitment to the people who rely on these systems.
“Details of our new product will be released shortly, we hope you can understand why we have made this decision. Our aim is to offer a new system, designed to be cost effective and reliable, exactly what Medpage Ltd is known for.

Extensive range unaffected

All other products are still available; this notice applies only to the Medpage Seizure Movement Monitor range.
