Predictive analytics from Acticheck

Smart new feature from Acticheck

Independent Living site subscriber Acticheck, the innovator behind the life-saving wristband, has announced a new Predictive Analytics feature.

This breakthrough technology will give users an early warning system for potential wellbeing issues, providing valuable insights that can help detect health problems before they escalate.

Predicting health changes before they happen

Known for its yearlong battery life which gives the wearer uninterrupted protection, the Acticheck life-saving wristband already offers key features such as SOS calls, I’m OK checks (automated welfare checks) and fall alerts, ensuring users have peace of mind and support in critical moments. However, with the introduction of Predictive Analytics, users will now benefit from proactive health monitoring that analyses activity patterns to predict potential health risks and take preventative action.

By monitoring the wristband’s persistent movement readings — captured every 15 minutes — the system builds a detailed baseline of each wearer’s daily activity. These historical trends enable Acticheck to detect significant changes in behaviour that could indicate a possible health issue. Early identification allows for timely intervention and helps prevent the likelihood of serious complications.

For example, a disrupted night’s sleep could signal a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), prompting early testing and treatment before the situation worsens. Or it could indicate they’ve been watching the Superbowl overnight!

How it works

The Predictive Analytics feature compares recent movement data to the wearer’s baseline activity levels, detecting deviations that could indicate potential health concerns. At mid-morning each day, if a significant variation is found, an email notification is sent to the designated responders, alerting them to the potential issue.

The Acticheck dashboard makes it easy to track these variations. The user’s baseline activity is represented by the ‘golden line’, while the dark blue line reflects real-time activity every 15 minutes. Significant deviations from this baseline signal the potential need for further investigation.

No additional costs

This powerful new feature is available to all Acticheck users at no extra cost. It’s automatically included as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to improving the safety and wellbeing of their users.

Karl Gibbs, Acticheck’s founder, had this to say:

“We are thrilled to introduce this advanced capability to the Acticheck system. By incorporating predictive analytics into our platform, we are providing an added layer of protection that can help catch potential health issues before they develop into something more serious. This initiative is just one more way we’re making wearable technology accessible and life-transforming for everyone, particularly those who don’t typically use wearables.”

About Acticheck

Acticheck was formed in 2014 out of frustration with the lack of technology available for family members to give them peace of mind that, should aid be needed, help is at hand. Acticheck works with councils at home and overseas as well as directly with many individuals and families.
