The Palma Vita has been purpose-designed to combine a conventional WC with integrated washing and drying. There’s no need therefore to wipe clean – or be wiped clean – with toilet tissue.

This is the only toilet of its kind, specifically developed for elderly and disabled people, that is designed to properly support the user AND position them correctly for effective washing and drying.

The Palma Vita delivers the most effective douching and drying available in wash & dry toilets, leaving you consistently, hygienically clean.

It is the only toilet of its kind that can be tailored to your specific needs, for as long you need it, with a range of accessories.

Unique simultaneous flushing and washing improves hygiene as the user is cleaned by warm water, not paper, and increases independence as manual cleansing is eliminated.

In addition to using the Closomat unit as an automatic wash and dry toilet, it can also be used in the conventional way.

To use the toilet without automatic washing and drying:-

Use the toilet, wipe clean with toilet tissue as usual, then stand up.

Whilst standing, just press either of the push pads situated on the left and right of the cistern and the Closomat will flush in a conventional manner.


To initiate the automatic washing and drying facilities:-

Sit upright on the toilet. Your weight will ensure that the seat is depressed. Press either of the pads with your elbow and the toilet will flush, as the douche arm extends and warm water washing will begin.

Simultaneous flushing and washing is a feature unique to Closomat that reduces risks of infection. Keep the pad depressed until the water is running cool. This will take approximately 12 seconds.

Now release pressure on the pad. Washing with cool then cold water will continue for as long as the pad is depressed.

The douche arm will retract back into the toilet bowl, self-cleaning in the process, and you will sense the warm air drying your body. This continues for about three minutes.

Accessories extend the options for personalisation

A raft of accessories enables the Palma Vita to be personalised to individual needs. Uniquely, accessories can be added at time of installation, or added subsequently as user’s needs change: approximately 150,000 permutations exist!

Options include a choice of operating methods, seats, douches, and support systems.

Paediatric options

Appreciating that we have a growing number of children with disabilities, Closomat has developed a bespoke range to accommodate their specific requirements, to enable almost any child to be able to use the toilet independently.

In addition to a choice of back/trunk support systems, there is the Rifton HTS (Hygiene & Toileting System). This is available in both fully mobile and clip-on options.
