PDS Hygiene introduced the Bio Bidet electronic bidet toilet seat to the United Kingdom in 2007. The Bio Bidet offers an efficient and sophisticated alternative to purpose-built shower toilets at a fraction of the price.

Watch a brief movie showing the functioning of the Bio Bidet:

The Bio Bidet can be fitted to most standard toilet pans in place of the original toilet seat. It provides the user with a temperature and pressure controlled warm water wash and blow-dry. The normal operation of the toilet is unchanged; it operates conventionally with the addition of the bidet.

Anyone who has difficulty using toilet paper because of mobility or dexterity issues, or cognitive impairments, will find the automated wash and dry sequence a much more effective alternative. If washing the hands is a basic part of bathroom hygiene, then intimate washing as provided by the Bio Bidet is quite simply a logical addition to the daily hygiene routine. The facts are simple: cleansing with water is more comfortable, more effective and above all more hygienic than tissues. We don’t use dry paper to clean our hands so why use paper for our sensitive body parts?

Bidet toilet seats were developed in Japan as luxury items some years ago. They have since moved into the mainstream and they are now in common use in the Far East. All hotels and public buildings in Japan are fitted with them, as are millions of private homes.

None were approved for connection to the water main in the United Kingdom until PDS Hygiene redesigned the Bio Bidet to comply with British regulations. The testing program leading to WRAS approval included putting the Bio Bidet through over 200,000 operating cycles. Users can therefore be confident that they are using a well-tested product. Our Bio Bidet models are also European CE approved.

The seat and the lid of the Bio Bidet are made from germ-resistant polymers (Polygiene Plastic), and are hydraulic for soft and quiet closing. All main electronic components are treated with thick epoxy for maximum protection against moisture, rust and residues that can cause short circuit. Built-in thermostats and a memory system control the temperature and pressure to prevent excessive heating or harm to the user or the Bio Bidet itself, and there is built-in grounding to protect against the risk of electrical shock.
